Questions
and Answers #6
Here are some of the questions that were sent to us, and the answers
sent back.
If you have a question that you would like answered please click here.
Q Does
your group have a Yeshiva?
A No
yeshiva at this point, we only get together for tikkunim.
Q
I went through all the material on the site,
what should I do now?
A
If you read through all of it then you should move on to the original
sefarim, since they contain a lot more information. There should be
a list there of the various Sefarim. B"H we will keep on adding
more material to the site.
Q Is
there a number where I can call someone from the group to ask him questions?
A As
far as contact, it is our policy to only go through e-mail. Feel free
to send us questions or comments.
Q Should
I start learning Kabbalah?
A Reading
Zohar daily is a very big Tikkun and should be done by everyone. Knowing
the basic introductions of Kabbalah is also necessary so a person can
understand what he is doing. Studying Kabbalah on a deeper level should
only be done when a person is ready for it. However there is a lot of
light in Kabbalah and if a person has a small seder in Kabbalah or Chasidut
it can give him the drive to study the other parts of Torah.
Q
I am very close to a certain Rav and he has
given me a lot of guidance but he is against Breslov. What should I
do?
A It
appears that now it may seem that it is better for you to stay with
your Rav since you have a close connection with him and he can give
you guidance that you would loose if you left him. However there is
no arguing that Bresslov is the most efficient path that a person can
use in this generation. Either way you do not have to announce to everyone
that you learn Likutay Maharan, this can be done privately at least
for now. You may even be able to get away with going to Uman.
Q I
am Shomer Habris most of the time....
A Regarding
Shmiras Habris. There is absolutely no room for compromise, a person
can not slip, even once or twice a year. You just have to bind yourself
to Kedusha and keep on making boundaries until you know that are safe.
Q You
write on your Kabbalah site that there is a path of Gevurah. How do
I know if I should be taking this path?
A Gevurah
is not meant for too many people, if you were one of them you would
know it yourself, but it does not seem like it.
Q I
would like to spread the teachings of Shmiras Habris that I read on
your site. What is the best way to go about doing it?
A If
you want to spread this topic you can do Hafatzah on the new Shmiras
Habris pamphlet we just printed. Call call 054-796-8738, 04-699-9145 and
they will give you (free of charge) as many as you promise to give out
.
Q Where
can I find the Tikkun Yesod from the Ben Ish Chi?
A It
is in the beginning of the second volume of Lashon Chachamim. There
are 2 parts the Prayer and the Seder Hlimud.
Q
Is reading Zohar a Tikkun?
A Reading
the Zohar it is a very powerful Tikkun, especially the Tikkunay Zohar.
Rebbe Aharon Roteh (Tahras Hakodesh) speaks a lot about it in his sefarim.
Q
What happens if a person starts being Shomer
Habris and then he falls?
A Many
people on their first attempt to be Shomer Habris do fall. The main
thing is to get up and try again and again. This is the main victory
when a person, even if he heaven forbid falls a number of times starts
again and continues trying.
In addition during his first attempt he has already started rectifying
his actions and weakening the Klipot, it did not go to waste.
Q
I seperated from my wife but she refuses to
take a get unless I give her a very large amount of money, that I do
not even have. Can I raise a family with a Pelegesh?
A Unfortunately
pilegesh is not really an option.
Do the following..
Do hisbodedute
about this for an hour a day. Be strong and do it over and over again
day after day no matter what the obstacles are . Pray and beg Hashem
to help you out. Then if the justice is with you, she will either agree
to the get or she will cease to be around.
Q I
was Pogem Habris and now I have a very hard time making money, what
can I do to improve the situation?
A
The more tikkunim a person does the more
he fixes. Getting married and following the rules of Halacha in the
marriage also helps a lot.
Q
I am willing to do anything to repair the damage
from Pgam Habris so I can start making money again.
A There
are really only two ways.
The first
is to do the ARI's tikkunim. This is very harsh and extreme and most
people are not expected to do so. Just to start a person would have
to fast 3 sets of 84 fasts.
The second
and recommended way is to do an hour of hisbodedute every day and beg
Hashem to help you out. This is not an easy thing either but if a person
is constant in it he can rectify all the damage he created and receive
his energy back. If money is what interests a person he can even become
wealthy.
Q
I have many confusing thought going through
my head. Sometimes they tell me to go in this direction and sometimes
in the other direction.
A As
far as confusing thoughts there is no short term way to diffuse them,
it is something that goes away over time as tikkunim are done. Rebbe
Nachman has a lot of advice in his various Sefarim for dealing with
exactly these problems.
Q Can
I send your group a donation or help the printing of the Tikkun Klali
pamphlets?
A In
general our group does not accept any donations. As far as the pamphlets
go, we give them out and ship them at no charge. If you would still
like to send a donation, then it will be used for the printing of the
next batch of pamphlets. All the money will be used specifically for
that purpose besides of what is lost on the transfer and conversion
to shikalim.
Q I
am trying to be Shomer Habris, can I join your group?
A It
is good to see that there are those that are trying. As far as the group
there are very specific requirement that must be met before we allow
one to enter. It is not since we feel superior, it is to make sure that
the person will be able to survive intense tikkunim and not fall.
Q You
write on the site that many sefarim give very harsh Tikkunim that are
not meant for this generation. What does that mean?
A The
Ari and the Rokach for example give many tikkunim such as long sets
of fasts and sigufim such as malkos and gilgul sheleg. In past generations
many people were able to do them. In this generation most people can
not do them physically and are very far from the mind set of being able
to do them.
We know that
Hashem is merciful and that he judges every one according to their ability.
Therefore it is quite obvious that in this generation if a person really
wants to do Teshuvah he should not have to do the above listed tikkunim.
If a person can then it is very good, but how can that be expected from
everyone.
In this generation
if a person would just honestly and simply try to the best of his ability
to follow the path of Rebbe Nachman of Breslov, his previous actions
will be repaired and he will not receive punishment for them and he
will merit to attain many high levels.
Q For
years my Rav has been ignoring me and looking down upon me. The number
of times that I tried approaching him for help, he pushed me away. This
has caused me to fall and look very low upon myself.
A Regarding
your Rav, it is possible that he might be a righteous individual. However
not every person proposing to be a rav is a tzadik. The Zohar and the
Sefarim of Kabbalah many times discuss the concept of the Giborim section
of the Erev Rav, the group that gets their energy from acting like Rabanim
and learning Torah, while in truth all their actions are rooted in the
desire for power and honor. According to the teachings in the Kabbalah
this is not such a rare occurrence.
It is known
that any person can do Teshuvah and a Rav should help out the people
that are associated with him and not reject them. It is true that there
are times when this must be done, but these situations are not common.
Our advice to you is, if the Rav treats you in that manner you have
nothing to gain from him anyway, simply block him out as an element
in your life. If for family and social reasons you must relate to him
then do so, but as far as his importants in your life and Avodas Hashem,
it should be zero.
Q You
write that looking at impure images is one of the worst things that
person can do. What is your source for that?
A Please
read:
http://www.briskodesh.org/PDF/israel613/guarding-eyes.pdf
In addition, it is almost impossible that a person who regularly looks
at impure pictures will not also be Pogem Habris. If for some reason
he does not, he will surely be contaminated with Keri and in this case
it would be completely his fault.
Q You
write in one place on the Kabbalah site, that women should not wear
wigs to cover their hair.
A
Firstly it is much better that a women use a
wig or shytle then to not cover her hair at all. Secondly the decision
to use a covering to cover the hair and not a shaytle should be made
by the women herself, and should not be forced upon her. Every woman
should come to her own conclusion that it is the right thing to do.
After having
said the above, it should be stated that many of today's Mekubalim and
Tzadikim as well as those living in recent generations, were strongly
against the use of modern Shatyles. Many shatyles look even better then
real hair and defeat the whole purpose of tzniut.
Q
I just started being Shomer Habris.
A Be
strong in the battle, since it is not going to be easy. The main thing
is to continue trying no matter what happens. If heaven forbid you fall,
do not give up just keep on trying again and again and you will be victorious.
Q Will
reciting the first 4 chapters of Tehilim before going to sleep stop
me from seeing keri? Also can I recite them after nightfall since you
are not supposed to read Tehilim at night?
A While
reciting the 4 chapters of Tehilim is not a guarantee, it can help.
You are allowed to recite those chapters after nightfall since they
are being said as a prayer. You will see that the Shma itself is composed
of many pesukim and parts of Tanach.
Q
I plan on fasting every Thursday for the rest of my life
to rectify the damage of being pogem habris for years, can you tell
me what to do?
A If
you have the power to do the fasting and it will not place you in depression
then it should be done. Try to work it out that you do at least one
set of 84 fasts even if it takes a couple of years. There is also the
Tikkun of Rebbe Yehudah Fataya and one from the Ben Ish Chi that use
shorter sets of fasts. B”H we will place these on the site at
one point.
For the 84
fasts it is sunrise to Tzaes Hakochavim. There are other Tikkunim where
one has to fast the night as well.
Q
Am I allowed to use mouthwash on a day that I am fasting,
since I work and have to deal with people?
A One
is allowed to use mouthwash but he can not drink water.
Q
I have to travel through the city, what can I do for
protection?
A Wear
a kosher pair of Tzitzis and put on Tiffilen every day in the morning,
this should help.
Q
If I know how badly I sinned in the past how
can I do Hisbodedute?
A Use
Azus Dkedusha and say even though I have sinned in the past I still
want you to listen to me. This is exactly what Rebbe Nachman teaches
to do.
Remember
Hashem has the ultimate level of mercy and can give you something even
if you don't deserve it , only because you beg him day after day.
Q
Many times I feel as if I am being attacked by demons and the klipot.
This causes me claustrophobia as well as many other problems.
A We
had a number of people who went through a similar situations. They got
rid of it by fasting many times and doing a lot of Tikkunim. However
there is an alternative to fasting and doing segufim... Hisbodedute.
Make a commitment
that every day no matter what happens you will do Hisbodedute for at
least 15 min a day. During this time you will cry out and yell to be
freed of your situation. Even if you have no real feelings or it seems
that you are being totally ignored, you must continue day after day.
Know, that it is in your power to change your situation through
Hisbodedute. It is a method that is guaranteed to work if you
are consistent in it. We personally know many people who received a
large part of their tikkun through hisbodedute.
Q
In the morning I go to the Mikvah. Sometimes
I want to enter a graveyard to visit the kever of a Tzasdik. Does this
remove the effects of the Mikvah.
A It
does not effect it in any way. Just make sure to wash your hands after
leaving the graveyard. Also be careful to stay only on the path and
not wonder amongst the graves.
Q What
is the best time to recite the Tikkun Haklali?
A It
should not be recited from Shkiah until Chatzot of the night. Every
other time is good for reciting the Tikkun Haklali. A lot of people
recite it immediately after Shachris. That way they can say it every
day without forgetting.
